ReceiptMatrix

Privacy & Security

This page explains how ReceiptMatrix behaves in product terms. It is intentionally shorter than the legal policy and focuses on what users usually need to know. For the formal policy, use the full Privacy Policy.

Privacy model

ReceiptMatrix is designed for local, business-grade receipt handling. OCR and extraction run on-device, and core processing does not require cloud services.

What stays on your Mac

  • Receipt files stored in app-managed storage
  • Extracted metadata such as vendor, date, totals, category, and notes
  • Settings for automation, exports, and app preferences

Folder access

When you add watched or export folders, macOS grants ReceiptMatrix access only to those folders. If a folder is moved or access expires, re-add it in Settings.

Deletion behavior

Deleting a receipt in the app removes the in-app record but does not remove the original file by default. Undo is supported. Storage cleanup tools can later remove app-managed leftovers when needed.

Optional analytics

Analytics is optional and off by default. If enabled, ReceiptMatrix sends only anonymous product-usage events such as launches, imports, exports, or purchase flow events. Receipt content, filenames, financial values, and personal information are not sent.

Analytics data is processed by TelemetryDeck. You can disable analytics at any time in Settings -> Automation.

Network usage

Network access is used for App Store purchases, restores, and subscription validation, plus anonymous analytics if you opt in. Receipt content and financial data are not transmitted as part of normal app processing.

Practical safety tips

  • Enable FileVault on your Mac.
  • Keep macOS up to date.
  • Review watched folders and export destinations periodically.
  • Clean old app-managed files on a schedule if you no longer need them.
